Tournament
Fishing
Dan also fishes some semi-pro circuits
including Everstart and BFL. 2004
produced two Top 5 finishes in Texas
Tournament Trail events - including
a Third Place finish in the Championship.
In 2007 he fished the Texas Stren
Division and finished 7th for the
year with one Top 10 and an 11th
place finish. This included
a 2nd place finish with 2 records broken
on nearby Lake Amistad! (CLICK

1 and HERE for
the story on Day 2) Also in 2007
he fished the Texas Tournament Trail
and finished 18th and had one Top
10 finish. This 7th place finish
provided him with a berth in the
2008 FLW Tour - and led to finishing
5th for FLW Rookie of the Year.
Though qualified for the 2009 FLW
Tour, Dan has decided to dedicate
his time to guiding on Falcon Lake
and fishing the 2009 Stren Texas
Division.
Dan's wife is his manager and his
son is his practice partner.
Please Note...
"Bass fishing is a great
sport and responsible fishermen
want to keep it that way. The
best way to do this is to "re-cycle" the
trophies you catch by practicing
Catch And Release. To make this
easier, I shoot a picture of
you with your fish and get the
measurements and weight - so
a replica can be made for your
wall, if you wish. While there
is nothing wrong with keeping
some of the smaller fish, we
recognize that those big females
are the ones repopulating the
lake with future lunkers and
urge all of my clients to release
the big ones" - Dan

On a more personal level...
I started bass fishing in Arkansas
at about 12 years old with my
good friend, Steve. We fished
every chance we had. As time
passed, I found myself interested
in fishing some small tournaments
in the area. Every week they
had night-time tournaments and
about once a month I got together
the entry fee and fished... and
did OK.
At 23 I got my first Ranger boat
and immediately fished a Children's
Miracle Network tourney with
my wife, Liz. As the final weigh-in
time approached we were fishing
within sight of the check-in
station... Fish On! A nice one
- at least a couple of pounds.
With literally only a couple
of minutes left, I horsed the
fish in... a little too quickly,
it turns out, as it got away.
It was a close tournament - we
came in 23rd, but only 2 pounds
away from First Place... the
one that got away a couple of
minutes before closing!
For 5 years I lived on Toledo
Bend Lake on the Texas side and
owned a marina. In addition to
guiding at the marina, I competed
in the FLW Circuits (Bass Fishing
League, Stren Series and Texas
Tournament Trail) and did pretty
well with them. I was privileged
to fish the FLW Tour against
many of my idols - the really
big names in fishing.
Now, I'm ready to make my home
where the winters are warm and
the bass are BIG! Come fish Falcon
Lake with a lifelong, dedicated
Bass Fisherman!
